Weather of Taiyuan Taiyuan has an average annual temperature of 9.5. The rainy season comes in June, July and August. In winter, it is cold and dry. Due to the Siberian air masses that move southward across the Mongolian Plateau. Spring and summer are often blindingly bright, so sunglasses and a hat are recommended to fight radiation. Since Taiyuan is also a mining city, it is also worth taking along something to clean your face! January is the coldest month and July is the warmest. Winter usually begins towards the end of October. The summer months, June to August, are wet and hot with about 40% of the annual precipitation.
Generally speaking the best time to visit is between May and October, if you do not mind the heat.
