I hope that my very great delay in providing some feedback on a trip I booked through your agency earlier this year does not cause you to overlook it. We are very satisfied with all arrangements. We enjoyed the trip tremendously. We appreciated most the chance to travel off the beaten track, eg Tashkurgan, and chance to visit local family (in Kashgar).
The sights of the Li River in Guilin were simply breathtaking, and our guide did an excellent job of finding additional activities to keep us busy when we moved through some of the sites faster than he expected. Ray, our guide in Xian, showed us that there were many interesting things to see in addition to the Terra Cotta Army. He was an extremely good guide and his fondness for Xian and for meeting with travelers from all over the world was evident.
Some bus trips too long. Changes in train/air schedules with introduction of winter schedule did affect the program, esp, in Turpan. Local guides all excellent.
By comparison, they felt Xian program was standard tourist treatment, but chance to attend university lectures was a privilege and gave them more in-depth understanding. Many tour members already had specialist knowledge, eg of textiles, Buddhism, etc, and expected to receive more serious treatment than "average tourists".
Please note: all staff were excellent and most helpful including office staff Lisa and Lina.
