Hi Lina,  Thanks for writing to follow up on our trip.  We had a wonderful time in China!  I have to say that we all were very impressed with the knowledge, professionalism and friendliness of our guides.  Our guide in Kunming, Daisy, was particularly committed to making sure we were taken care of and happy.  I have a great appreciation for the hard work and dedication they put into their jobs!

There was one area that we felt needed some attention.  There were a few occasions when we had to catch an early evening flight and subsequently miss dinner.  It was too early to eat dinner before departure, and too late to get dinner after we arrived, as restaurants were closed.  This left us buying yogurt at small stands or eating cookies we had purchased earlier.  After the third time, we got a bit frustrated.  We might recommend that the guide supply the party with a “sac” dinner.  This is a picnic-style dinner where the food can be carried in a bag and either brought onto the airplane and eaten, or eaten at the hotel upon arrival.  It might contain bread or rice, a cucumber or piece of fruit, boiled egg, etc.  Another suggestion might be to make sure there are restaurants open late and provide the party with a map on how to get there from the hotel.

The hotels were, for the most part, fine.  We particularly liked the Sanhe Hotel in Lijiang for its atmosphere and location, and our stay at the Laozhao Family Hostel outside of Yangshuo.  For some reason, we stayed at a hotel not on our itinerary on the night of October 17th.  The hotel that we ended up in was not satisfactory.  One of the rooms had a bad odor in the bathroom, the beds were not comfortable and the service was not great.  I’m sorry that I don’t remember the name of the hotel.

The food was excellent!  We opted for the Chinese breakfasts most of the time and were very happy with our decision.  Sampling the many dishes was a highlight of our trip!  

I would also like to thank you, Lina, for paying such close attention to our wants and needs during the planning of our trip.  I felt that you were always “on top of it” and that gave me confidence that I had made the right decision in going with Sinoway Travel.  I will certainly think of you in the future if or when I decide to revisit China.
