The first thing that strikes people when they meet Gerard is his smile. And that beaming mug has greeted countless Sinoway Travel passengers over the years.

Gerard started working as one of our star tour leaders in Xian in June 2004. He loves life out on the road sharing our unique style of travel. Gerard likes to keep everything running smoothly in his groups, but his true love is experiencing northwestern Sichuan and Tibet on the ground and he returns to that area as often as he can.

Gerard was born in the a small county north-eastern of Xian, and he has travelled most of China's best fantastic scenic destinations in his life. He attended the China Tourism University (Formerly known as Beijing 2nd Foreign Language University) 1996 to 2000 where he obtained a degree English and Tourism. Since acquiring his guiding license, Gerard has specialized in the general Norther China areas including cities such as Xian, Beijing, and Silk Road. He enjoyed taking clients to small tucked away villages and has even taken some to his very own village in north-eastern Shaanxi, where he was able to educate them about life in the more rural parts of China. 

Gerard is passionate about showing clients the life of Chinese minorities and enjoys educating them on China's subtler side. Clients love his commitment and people-pleasing mentality. Attention to detail and customer service are his signature traits. In his free time, Gerard enjoys photography and listening to music.
