Changchun Film City, built in 1985, located southeast of Changchun City 's urban area, is a famous film production center in the province of Jilin. The first film production base in China - the famous Changchun Film Studio, which was named as Dongbei Film Studio originally, is also located in Changchun.Established in 1945, Changchun Film Studio is regarded as the cradle of Chinese films. Changchun Film Studio is one of the largest film production bases in China.

Changchun Film City is full of activities during the annual Changchun Film Festival. Its unique film and TV culture is popular among the local and foreign tourists. This Film City is Changchun's version of the Universal Studio and it is made up of the New Film Technology Exhibition Zone, Ancient-style Architecture Zone, Ethnic Minority Scenic Zone, Amusement Zone, and Tourist Service Zone. The Film City mainly consists of Film World, Film Palace, Cinerama, Ancient city towers, Beijing-style courtyard house, European street block and Ancient Castle.
