The biggest lamasery in Moso area is Zhamei Lamasery in Yongning. Tibetan people call Yongning as "taluo", meaning "the way to heaven". The place the Zhamei Lamasery lies in is called "Zhameige", which means "no war". The coincidence of these two names make the Lamasery even famous in Tibet.
Dwelling place for souls A philosopher said that people should live poetically in a land. A Mosuo Daba once said that only one's own homeland could hold him/her. At the beginning, Mosuo people believed in Daba Religion, an ancient religion similar to Dongba Religion in Lijiang. Later, influenced by the neighboring Tibetan areas, lots of Mosuo people then converted to Lamaism. Thus, two religions all co-exist in this place. On this mysterious land, Mosuo people communicate with their gods quietly. In this way, they feel the existence of their souls and great harmony of body and soul. In this place, they have a serene and tranquil peace in heart.
